Recently I had the pleasure of working with the new owners of Scallywags Kelowna, Paul and Lori. Originally they called Raelistic Artistic Painting to get a quote on having their children’s clothing store re-painted. Soon we were choosing a completely new colour palette for the store as well. Lori had mentioned that the store was very dark, and when I saw the store in person I realized that indeed it was very very dark. Deep Hunter Green ceilings and walls, with Yellowed Cream shelving… not exactly what Paul and Lori had in mind.
They wanted to streamline the store, making it more contemporary, and ultimately making items easier to find for her customers. Less clutter and more organization to the layout and sections of each area in the shop.
Scallywags needed a new look… Something fresh, young, and trendy. Something that better suited the young families that shop at the store on regular basis. As Scallywags is one of the most unique children’s clothing stores in Kelowna – the look of the store needed to reflect that…
So we decided on a very modern colour palette of bright, clean white, with two shades of lime green. Raelistic Artistic Painting was hired on to re-paint the entire store, and cover over all the dark green! It was very important to Paul and Lori that we use only Eco friendly products, so we chose to use Benjamin Moore Eco Spec and Aura paints. We even sprayed the new pendant lights to match our new palette.
It only took one week to completely over haul Scallywags, but it was sooooo worth the store’s down time. The response from customers has been great! Everyone loves the new look and layout, and business is back in full swing!
